The Parliament of Tasmania consists of the Tasmanian Legislative Council, Tasmanian House of Assembly and the Monarch represented by the Governor of Tasmania.

The leader of the party or coalition with the most seats in the House of Assembly is invited by the Governor of Tasmania to form government. The head of the government is the Premier of Tasmania.
